Professor Mart Saarma, a long-term board member of Mobidiag, has been granted a remarkable Nordic science award in February 2009. The value of the award granted by the Danish Lundbeck foundation is 268,000 euros. The award was granted thanks to Saarma’s research which has increased the knowledge on the regulation and importance of nerve growth factors and their receptors in cell growth. The neurotrophic factors that Saarma has discovered are a great promise for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. Mobidiag congratulates for the award!
