Inverness Medical Deutschland starts distributing Mobidiag’s two CE-IVD marked products. Prove-it™ Sepsis is a World Record molecular diagnostics test. It detects over 64 bacterial targets in a single assay with a specificity of 99% and sensitivity of 95%. With Prove-it™ Sepsis, the sepsis-causing bacteria are identified on average 40 hours earlier than by the conventional culturing methods. Thus, the clinician is provided with a rapid, comprehensive view of the cause of the sepsis infection, as well as the presence of MRSA.
Prove-it™ Herpes, Mobidiag’s CE-IVD marked assay for viral diagnostics, detects seven human herpesviruses in a single assay. Herpesviruses can cause life-threatening diseases affecting the central nervous system. The assay coverage of seven targets makes it ideal for rapid screening of the critically ill patient. Current molecular methods are usually targeted for detection of a single virus and require substantially more cerebrospinal fluid to be completed. Prove-it™ Herpes eliminates the need to deduce the targets to be tested based on clinical examination, reveals multi-infections and truly helps the clinician in targeting the antiviral treatment correctly.
