Accurate diagnostics of bone & joint infections 2-3 days earlier than before!

Mobidiag's launches rapid microarray solution for diagnostics of severe bone and joint infections (BJIs). The Prove-it™ Sepsis application for Bone and Joint infections has an enhanced test panel now covering over 60 bacterial targets including clinically vital additions such as Kingella kingae and Propionibacterium acnes - all in a single assay. The result is ready 2-3 days faster than by conventional methods thus providing a comprehensive view of the infection causing bacteria quickly and accurately. The assay has been studied with good results in Hospices Civils de Lyon in France by analyzing 350 articular fluid and bone biopsy samples. Mobidiag’s three-hour assay is accurate, rapid and sensitive. The bacteria is identified directly from a DNA sample of a bone biopsy or synovial fluid. This concept will be invaluable in the Intensive Care Units where rapid identification of fastidious bacteria is critical and can replace the current labor intensive and time-consuming culture techniques in BJI diagnostics.
