Mobidiag is actively collaborating and networking with professionals to develop rapid assays for the identification of microbes, in
order to enhance current diagnostics
Molecular methods based on amplification and hybridization of nucleic acids can solve many of the problems present in the current diagnostics for severe
infections. The current diagnostics of causative agents is often time and resource consuming. Results are available only days, sometimes up to week, after
sampling. In addition, current assays can be cost- and labor-intensive.
Mobidiag's first assays targeted for the detection of the causative agents of sepsis and CNSI are currently available as Research-use-Only
products: Prove-it™ Bacteria and Prove-it™ Herpes.
The assays will at first be available as Reseach-use-Only products and will be further clinically evaluated for IVD use
Assay design of Prove-it™ applications
Prove-it™ Biobank lays the foundation for designing different assays
Current Prove-it™ applications are based on the PCR and microarray technologies. The workflow includes:
Multiplex-PCR is conducted in a single test-tube. Mobidiag's proprietary modifications of PCR allow efficient amplification of
microbial targets directly suitable for the detection and identification phase.
Microbial targets are identified on a microarray composed of short oligonucleotide probes. This allows simultaneous detection of all
targets in a single hybridization-based reaction. Mobidiag provides two different solutions for microarray-based detection:
TubeArray and Lab-on-Chip
Various quality controls are integrated in the assay for reliable assay performance
